Terms of Personal Data Processing when using the Zaži Tatry mobile application (Privacy Policy)

From May 25, 2018, including, your personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation "GDPR") and in accordance with Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on personal data protection and on amendments to certain acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Data Protection Act"). In connection with the processing of personal data, we provide you with the following information pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR).

This document contains information about how we process personal data of Zaži Tatry application users (hereinafter referred to as the "Application"). The controller and administrator of personal data is Gabriel Olekšák and Peter Bartoš, who can be contacted at: kontakt@zazitatry.sk (hereinafter referred to as the "controller"). The application serves users to explore the High Tatras, navigate using 3D maps and access information about hiking trails (hereinafter referred to as "services").

This document will clarify the following areas regarding personal data protection:

1. What personal data we process

Zaži Tatry application does not require registration and does not collect personal identification data such as name, surname, address or phone number.

When using the services, the following data may be automatically processed:

Contact form "Write to us":

• Email address (voluntary, if provided)
• Message content

Analytical data (Unity Analytics):

• Device information (phone model, operating system version)
• Application usage data (app launches, time spent in app)
• Technical data about application performance

Location data:

• GPS coordinates (only if permission is granted)
• Data is used exclusively for navigation purposes within the 3D map of the High Tatras
• Location data is processed only locally on your device and is not stored on our servers

2. For what purposes we use personal data

Contact form "Write to us":

We use email address and message content exclusively for:

• Answering your questions and requests
• Providing technical support
• Communication regarding the application

The legal basis is the consent of the data subject pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR Regulation and also our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR Regulation, which consists in communicating with users and providing support.

Analytical data:

We use technical data from Unity Analytics for the purposes of:

• Improving application functionality and performance
• Usage analysis for development purposes
• Bug fixes and technical problem solving

Location data:

We use location data exclusively for providing navigation functions in the 3D map. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR Regulation granted through location access permission in your device settings.

3. Who has access to your personal data

We share your personal data only with third parties about whom we inform you here.

The following recipients may have access to your personal data:

• Application operator for the purposes of analysis and application improvement and other activities related to Application development and maintenance

Important: Location data is processed only locally on your device and is not shared with any third parties.

4. How long we will store your personal data

We will store data from the "Write to us" contact form (email address and message content) for 1 year from message submission, or until your request is resolved, whichever occurs later.

We will process technical data from Unity Analytics only for the time necessary to fulfill the above purposes, but no longer than 2 years from their collection.

Location data is not processed permanently and is not stored - it is used only in real-time for navigation purposes.

The criteria used to determine the retention period include:

• How long the data is needed to provide services and ensure application operation
• Need for maintenance and service improvement
• Maintaining our systems security
• Legal obligations for data retention

5. How we protect your personal data

We realize that securing personal data so that it cannot be misused is our important obligation to you. Therefore, we try to effectively use the best possible security measures:

• Communication with the server takes place via encrypted HTTPS connection
• We use the latest technical solutions, such as data encryption
• Location data is processed only locally on your device
• Regular updates of technical solutions

6. What rights you have regarding the protection of your personal data

You have several rights regarding personal data protection. If you want to exercise any of these rights, please contact us by email at: kontakt@zazitatry.sk.

• You have the right to information, which is fulfilled by this information page with personal data processing conditions.
• Thanks to the right of access, you can ask us at any time and we will document within 30 days what personal data we process about you and why.
• Right to rectification - if something changes or you consider your personal data outdated or incomplete, you have the right to supplement and change personal data.
• You can exercise the right to restrict processing if you believe we are processing inaccurate data or performing unlawful processing.
• Right to portability - if you want to take your personal data and transfer it to someone else, we will provide you with information in machine-readable format within 30 days.
• Right to erasure (to be forgotten) - if you wish, we will delete all your personal data from the system.
• Right to withdraw consent - you can withdraw consent to location data processing at any time by changing settings in the application or device.

Changes to rules

We reserve the right to update these personal data protection conditions periodically. We will inform you about changes through application updates and publication on our website. In case of significant changes, we will provide you with more detailed information. For your information, we recommend regularly monitoring the current version of these conditions.

These personal data protection conditions are effective from May 23, 2025.
